How do I reset my password as a Sierra College student?

Password Reset Instructions:
- Visit: https://passwordreset.sierracollege.edu/index.html
- Select the big, blue button “Reset Password.”
- In the “User ID” field, enter your Sierra College email address. Your email address looks like this: username@student.sierracollege.edu
- The next step contains a CAPTCHA Image. Type in the combination of distorted letters and numbers displayed on the screen and then select, “Next.” (This field is not case sensitive.)
- Select “I forgot my password” and then “Next.”
- Select “Email” and a code will be sent to the personal email address you listed on your OpenCCC application. Continuing students, returning students, or employees who added a personal email address in the “Update My Personal Info” section of mySierra would access that personal email account to retrieve the code. The code will be sent from msonlineservicesteam@microsoftonline.com. If you don’t see the email, check your Junk, Spam, Deleted, Conversations, Clutter, Focused, and any other folders that your email provider may divert incoming mail to.
- On the password reset screen, enter the code into the field provided and select, “Next.”
- Create a new password based on the following criteria:
Sierra College Password Rules:
- The password length must be 15 to 32 characters
- Include at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
- Include at least one number
- Special characters are allowed, but not required
- Cannot contain your username, first name, middle name, or last name
- Cannot be the same as the last 25 passwords
What is my Sierra College email address?
Your Sierra College email address was included in the "Welcome to Sierra" email our Enrollment Services department sent to your personal email address after you applied for admission. If you have forgotten your email address or no longer have your "Welcome" email, please contact Enrollment Services at (916) 660-7340 or enrollmentservices@sierracollege.edu.
Update your personal email address on file:
Complete a Change of Information form and submit it to Enrollment Services for processing. Forms are located on the Sierra College website: https://www.sierracollege.edu/admissions/forms/
Troubleshooting Tips:
In the "User ID" field, be sure to enter your Sierra College email address. Example: username@student.sierracollege.edu. If you are a student who has just applied within the last 24 hours, try waiting another day before attempting to reset your password.
If you received confirmation that your password was successfully reset, but you cannot log into mySierra, test your password by logging into Canvas and/or your Sierra College email. Visit the Sierra College home page www.sierracollege.edu and select the "Canvas" link or select the "Email/Outlook" link and test your login. If the new password is recognized in either Canvas or your Sierra College email, then your new password is valid and the issue is most likely due to the browser used, in which case you should (1) clear your browser cache, (2) close out all open browser windows and tabs, then (3) try to login again.
