Troubleshooting Steps
If you're having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, try these simple steps:
1. Trust the Security Certificate
When prompted to trust or accept a certificate while connecting to the Wi-Fi network, select "Trust" or "Accept". The certificate helps verify you're connecting to the correct network and is required for a successful connection.
2. Turn Off Your VPN
If you're using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), disconnect or temporarily turn off your VPN. Some VPNs can interfere with Wi-Fi authentication and prevent the connection from completing. After connecting to Wi-Fi, you can usually turn your VPN back on if needed.
3. Remove Any Manual DNS Settings
If you've configured custom DNS servers on your device, delete the manual DNS entries and switch back to Automatic DNS. Custom DNS settings can sometimes conflict with campus network services and prevent a successful connection. After removing the DNS entries, try connecting to Wi-Fi again.
4. Forget and Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network
If you're still unable to connect:
- Forget the Wi-Fi network
- Restart Wi-Fi on your device
- Reconnect and enter your credentials again
5. Restart Your Device
A quick restart can clear network settings and resolve temporary connection issues.
- Restart your computer, phone, or tablet
- Try connecting again
