Register for Classes

To register for classes at Sierra College:

  1. Login to mySierra
  2. Click on Add, Drop or Withdraw from Classes in mySierra on the Registration and Classes tile 
  3. Then click on Register for Classes 
  4. Select the Term and Continue 

You can either use the "Find Classes" tab to search for classes in the online schedule or you can use the "Enter CRNs" tab to directly enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) for the class(es) you choose.  

Using the Find Classes tab

On the Find Classes tab, select any search filters that will help narrow down your search.

  • You can select multiple options in the Subject field. Choose as many as you like. 
  • Campus will limit your search results to specific locations. "Distance Learning" is the online class location. 
  • Under the Advanced Search link, you can find:
    • Attribute which will display classes that meet certain GE, degree or transfer requirements           
    • Instructional method which will show you classes that are on-ground (in the classroom) or partially online (which we call hybrid) as an example
    • Part of Term which will show you classes taking place in the first or second 8-week term as opposed to the full 16-week term
    • Meeting Days, Start Time and End Time options will display classes that take place during the options you select. Please note, online classes do not have a specific day and time to meet
    • Instructor which will allow you to search for a specific instructor
    • And there is an option to include only open classes that are available for registration immediately 

When clicking on Search, the page might take a while to load, so please be patient.

When you find the class you want to enroll in, click on the Add button to the far right of the screen.

After you add a class, you will see two more screens appear, dividing your screen into three sections. Now you have the (1) Search options, (2) a preview of your classes in schedule form by time and day of the week, and (3) a Summary of your registration.

If you want to enroll in more classes, continue to Add and you will see the changes reflected in the Schedule and Summary windows as you go along.

When your Summary is full of the classes you would like to take, click on Submit to finalize your registration.

  • Classes added to your Summary before clicking on Submit will show as “pending”.
  • After you click Submit, they will show as “registered” or “waitlisted”.

Using the Enter CRNs tab

If you already know the Course Reference Number or CRN for the class you want to enroll in, switch to the Enter CRNs tab and enter the five-digit code for your class. You can add multiple CRNs by clicking on the Add Another CRN link.

When your Summary is full of the classes you would like to take, click on Submit to finalize your registration.

  • Classes added to your Summary before clicking on Submit will show as “pending”.
  • After you click Submit, they will show as “registered” or “waitlisted”.
