How do I use the smart classroom podium in my classroom?

Answer

These are the two types of smart classroom podiums/carts, each with a unique control panel. Please reference the key below to assist you in using this equipment. If further training is desired, please do not hesitate to call the AV Department staff at (916) 660-7729/7730 (Rocklin), (530) 274-5343 (NCC), (530) 550-2284 (TT).

AV/MUTE or PIC/MUTE: Use this feature to temporarily turn the screen dark so students will not be able to view what you are doing on the computer. Do not leave PIC/MUTE on for extended lengths of time, as it will use lamp hours.

AUTO IMAGE: This feature will change the scan rate of the projector to optimize the image display (max 1024 x 768 resolution)

DOC CAM: Use this feature to project printed documents on the screen. The Doc Camera is stored in the side drawer of the podium. To use, open the drawer, raise the gooseneck of the doc camera and place documents below. There are zoom controls on the camera. Do not remove the camera from the drawer, and please be sure to collapse the gooseneck before closing the drawer at the end of each use.

LAPTOP: Use this feature if connecting a laptop with a VGA cable.

PC: Use this feature to display the PC located on the podium. The mouse and keyboard are located in the top drawer. Please return the wireless mouse to the charger when finished.

Important reminders!
