How to create a kiosk in Accudemia

Accudemia Centers

Currently Accudemia is used in five centers providing academic support. Sierra College pays for four Accudemia centers: Math Labs are sharing one center.

  • Rocklin Tutor Center
  • NCC Tutor Center
  • Writing Center – Rocklin & NCC
  • Math Labs – V208 & V329
Note: Math Labs are using Service to differentiate between Math Center in V-329 and Algebra/Stats in V-208, reporting separately for MIS/FTES. Make sure to select a service for the kiosk.

Kiosk Setup Guidelines

  • Each device intended for student sign-in must have the kiosk set up individually.
  • An unlimited number of kiosks can be created.
  • Kiosks typically need to be reconfigured once or twice per semester.
  • Kiosks are configured within a web browser and are only accessible in the browser where they are set up. Compatible browsers are Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
  • Clearing a browser’s cache/history will remove the kiosk configuration.
  • To set up a kiosk, users must have an Accudemia account and administrative permissions to Create Sign In Stations. Currently all Accudemia admin users have been granted permission to set up kiosks.

Steps for configuring a Kiosk/Sign-In Station in Accudemia

Go to www.sierracollege.edu and log in to myAccess.

Click the TUTORING card to access Accudemia.

Click Quick and select Sign-In Station.

Select the center name. Student attendance will default to this center on the kiosk.

Optional: Select a service if this kiosk will be used for a single service. If this step is skipped, students will be asked to select a service at sign-in.

Note: For Math Labs, the service must be selected as it functions as the center.

Click Setup Kiosk & Logout.

An error message will appear, but the logout was successful. Disregard this error.

Access the kiosk

Close the browser to ensure proper sign out. Open a new browser window and go to https://sierracollege.accudemia.net/kiosk . Now you will see the kiosk that you configured.

Create a desktop shortcut for quick kiosk access (directions for Chrome).

The kiosk is now accessible from the device desktop.

Repeat these steps for each device intended for student sign-in.
