Course Cap Criteria and Justification

Proposal Submission

Complete the Course Cap Criteria and Justification Table to establish the course cap for new courses and for a course cap revision to an existing course. Upload the completed form to the Maximum Class Cap area in CourseLeaf for the selected course.

When completing the form, faculty are to select from the approved list of criteria and provide justification for each. Multiple criteria are encouraged and may be requested if not provided.

For each criterion listed, provide evidence to support the criteria. Upload supporting documents as needed.

For each criterion listed, provide evidence as to how areas of the Course Outline of Record (COR) were developed or revised to support the proposed course cap. Areas of the COR where evidence is to be gathered include the following: Course Objectives, Course Content Outline, Course Hours, Course Description, and Course Student Learning Outcomes (CSLOs).

The Appropriate Educational Administrator (AEA) may provide feedback in support of or opposition to the proposed course cap criteria. Upload the revised form including feedback to the Maximum Class Cap area in CourseLeaf for the selected course.

Justification should be reflected in the COR - Course Objectives, Course Content Outline, Hours, Course Description, Course Student Learning Outcomes
