How Your Recommended Math Placement is Determined

Summary

View how Math placement is determined

Body

Your recommended Math course placement is determined by the following:

  • High school transcripts: GPA and courses completed
  • Other college transcripts
  • EAP and AP scores

All new Sierra College students need to have a placement on file before meeting with an academic counselor.

Visit DegreeWorks to make sure you have placements on file. If you have placements on file, be sure to view them so you know what they are. If you do not yet have placements on file, you will receive an email alert in mySierra when they are available.

MATH PLACEMENT: AP/EAP TEST SCORE PLACEMENT

Note: The Assessment Office does not post or grant credit for courses based on AP score reports. If you plan to transfer, a four year university may have different AP score requirements. Please meet with your counselor to discuss your options.
