How to Connect to the Sierra Wi-Fi

How do I connect to the Sierra-Wi-Fi network and the Sierra network?

Answer

Sierra College students, faculty, staff, and guests are able to connect to the Sierra-WiFi wireless network. 

For students, faculty, and staff users:

• Select the Sierra-WiFi network

• Enter your mySierra username/password
• Accept the Terms of use (this step needs to be completed or you will not be able to log in)
• You should now be connected.

Note: Once you sign in, your credentials will be securely remembered, no need to re-log in every time you return to campus.

For Guest users:

• Select the Sierra-WiFi network

• Select the Continue as Guest button

• Accept the Terms of use (this step needs to be completed or you will not be able to log in)
• You should now be connected.

LEGACY WiFi Instructions for Sierra Wireless Network

NOTE: The existing "Sierra" wireless network will be fully retired later on this year (2025). More communication to follow in the coming months. 

Sierra students, faculty and staff can still connect to the Sierra wireless network. 

For Apple iOS Users:

• Select the Sierra SSID (wireless network) 

• Enter your mySierra username/password 

• When prompted, accept/trust the Clearpass.sierracollege.edu certificate

• You should now be connected.

For Android Users:

• Select the Sierra SSID (wireless network) 
• Select "PEAP" for the EAP Method
• Select "MSCHAPV2" for the Phase 2 authentication
• Select "Use system certificate" for the CA certificate
• Select "Do not verify" for Online Certificate Status
• Enter "sierracollege.edu" as the Domain
• Enter your mySierra username for the Identity
• Enter your mySierra password for the Password

• If prompted, accept/trust the Clearpass.sierracollege.edu certificate
• You should now be connected.

For Windows Users:

• Select the Sierra SSID (wireless network) 
• Enter your mySierra username for the User name
• Enter your mySierra password for the Password

For Mac Users:

• Select the Sierra SSID (wireless network) 
• Enter your mySierra username for the Account Name
• Enter your mySierra password for the Password

• If prompted with a "Verify Certificate" window (as shown below), click Continue

• You should now be connected.

For Chromebook Users:

• Select the Sierra SSID (wireless network) 
• Select "PEAP" for the EAP Method
• Enter "sierracollege.edu" as the Domain suffix match
• Enter your mySierra username for the Identity
• Enter your mySierra password for the Password
