The format painter allows you to copy the formatting from one object, like text or graphics, and apply it to another object.

Before selecting Format Painter, you must select the text or paragraph that has the formatting you want copied.
- To copy general text formatting, you can highlight text that has the formatting, or place the cursor among the words.
- To include paragraph formatting, you need to highlight the whole paragraph or section.
The format painter is in the top left under the Home tab.
Double click the format painter icon if you want to apply formatting more than one time. Single click the format painter icon if you are okay with applying the formatting only one time.
The pointer will turn into a paintbrush.
Highlight the section(s) that you want the formatting to be applied to.
