AutoText and AutoCorrect

Create an AutoText Entry

STEP 1: With a document open, highlight the text you want to make AutoText. 

STEP 2: Press Alt + F3 to bring up the Create New Building Block dialog box

STEP 3: Give the AutoText a unique name and description to make it easy for you to find and use. The other defaults should be fine.

Use AutoText

In any open document, go to the Insert Tab, click on Quick Parts, then AutoText. Hover over the block to reveal the name and description you created in the previous steps.

Configure AutoCorrect

STEP 1: In Word, go to the File tab, then select Options which should be at the very bottom of the File menu

STEP 2: In the Options dialog box, click on Proofing, then click on AutoCorrect Options

STEP 3: On the Autocorrect tab, select the Replace text as you type check box, if it's not already checked

STEP 4: Under Replace, type what you would like replaced and then add the replacement text under With

STEP 5: Click on Add, then Ok and Ok again

STEP 6: Try it out. Type the "replace" word in your document, then click on the spacebar. Did it work?
