Enrollment in Online Courses – Out of State Students
Our Distance Learning program offers online and hybrid classes so you can create a flexible schedule based upon your needs.
At this time, Sierra College has not been granted permission by the U.S. Department of Education to offer online courses to students who do not physically reside in California or Nevada. Students who are living in any state other than California or Nevada are prohibited from enrolling in online courses at Sierra College.
Starting July 1, 2020 and effective summer 2020, you will be asked at time of registration if you will be living in California or Nevada while taking your online classes through Sierra College. If you answer no, you will be dropped from your online classes. Admissions and Records and the Financial Aid Department have a review process to ensure we are following U.S. Department of Education regulations. If you have an out-of-state address and you are taking online courses at Sierra, we will confirm you will be living in California or Nevada while taking online courses at Sierra.
