The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Guidelines

We are committed to protecting confidential student records. We closely follow the FERPA guidelines. FERPA is a law that regulates access to student education records.

FERPA gives students rights concerning their education records. These rights include:

  • Inspecting your education records
  • Requesting that we fix your records if you believe they are inaccurate
  • Controlling disclosures of your records, except where FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent

If you are a college student, you have all the rights to access your records. Parents, spouses and significant others have no right to access your education records.

Education records include all records maintained in any medium which can identify you.
